Copyright & DMCA Policy

Who owns what on Calculator Matters, the one licensed exception for reuse, and how to report or counter a copyright claim.

Last updated 17 August 2026
In briefOur content is ours to license, not to be copied wholesale. Link and quote freely with attribution, use the official embed widget to reuse a calculator, and report infringement through the process below.

Ownership

All content on Calculator Matters — including text, the presentation of formulas, explanations, code, design, graphics, and logos — is owned by Calculator Matters or its content providers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

What you may do

  • Link freely to any page.
  • Quote briefly with clear attribution and a link back.
  • Embed any calculator on your own website, blog, or intranet — personal or commercial — for free, using the iframe snippet from the Embed a Calculatorpage, as long as the "Powered by Calculator Matters" attribution stays visible and intact.

What you may not do

You may not bulk-copy, scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the Site, reproduce a calculator's logic outside the official embed widget, or pass our calculators or content off as your own, without prior written permission.

Filing a DMCA takedown notice

We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement under the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws. To report infringement, send a written notice through our contact page including:

  • The copyrighted work you claim was infringed.
  • The exact URL(s) on this site where the material appears.
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorised.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your signature.

We review valid notices and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material and make a reasonable effort to notify whoever posted it.

Filing a counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may submit a counter-notice through the same contact pagewith the removed material's former location, your contact information, a good-faith statement under penalty of perjury, and your signature. We may restore the material as permitted by law.

Repeat infringers

Accounts or sources responsible for repeated, substantiated infringement may be denied further access to any interactive features of the Site.

Related policies

This policy sits alongside our full Terms of Use, which cover permitted use of the Site more broadly.

Copyright & DMCA FAQ

Can I link to or quote a Calculator Matters page?

Yes. Linking to any page is always welcome, and brief quotation with clear attribution and a link back is generally fine. Bulk-copying or republishing substantial portions of our content is not.

What should a takedown notice include?

The copyrighted work you claim was infringed, the exact URL(s) on this site, your contact information, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorised to act, and your signature.

What if my content was removed by mistake?

You can submit a counter-notice with the removed material’s former location, your contact information, a good-faith statement under penalty of perjury, and your signature. We may restore the material as permitted by law.
